Prototec

Here is my prototec from this week, I think that I have got better from when I first started.

Loch Ness Monster

Is the Loch Ness Monster real or fake in your opinion ?

I think that the Nisse monster is fake, because there is not enough proof that it is real monster. There are pictures but most are a shadow that can just be a sumbure under the water. The ones that have color look fake and no one has ever said that they know for  certain that the color is blue. Also all the information that the reports that have seen it given is basically saying that they have only seen a hump and other animals have humps too so it could be any of them. To me it all seems a bit fake and there is not enough information on it to believe me.

Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Life Cycle of a Butterfly

The life cycle of a butterfly is a really long process to go though, there are 4
stages to go though so I am going to be telling you all about it from the
start to the end.

Egg
If you did not know a butterfly starts as a little little egg. They are normally
found on a small leaf if there is only one of a big leaf if there is more than 1.
The egg stage usually lasts 3-7 days but this can change a bit among
different species of butterflies. Did you know that there are 20,000 species.

Caterpillar
Once it has been a few days the caterpillar finally starts to show through
and come out of the egg. Most caterpillars eat the eggshell after it has
hatched, others eat leafs. The caterpillar is designed to be an “eating-
machine” and before it begins to pupate it will increase its body mass
thousands of times. . The total time that the butterfly stays in the
caterpillar stage is about 2-5 weeks and varies based on the species and the
growing conditions. It is believed that the caterpillar stage is the most
dangerous in the life cycle of a butterfly as the death rates are very high.

Chrysalis
When a caterpillar knows that it is ready to go into a chrysalis it finds a nice
and thin brunch and starts to curl its tail over and lens against the brunch.
The caterpillar makes 2 strings and attaches it to the brunch it does not full
of well it is in the chrysali that is called a silk mat. Not all butterfly species
attach in the same way. Actually, the majority of butterflies will hang upside
down from their silk pad. As you can see in the pictures at the bottom it
gets covered in this green shell that feels like a really thin leaf. Inside the
cocoon the butterfly is starting to develop into different colors it stays in a
chrysali for 1-2 weeks.

Butterfly
After a long wait it finally the wings start to show, when it firsts come out
the wings are a bit crumbled but as time goes the wing starts going to normal
and  floats up into the air so it can fly.  The lifespan of most adult
butterflies is about 2-3 weeks but this can vary greatly among species.

The Life Cycle of a Butterfly Begins and Ends With the Adult Butterfly and

the life cycle will hopefully never end.

Water cycle

Water cycle

Water is a big part of the day because it can decide what you are doing for the day or what you
are not doing for the day, so it is a big part of life. Did you know that it covers 70% of the world's
surface. It also creates other creations such as rivers, lakes, valleys, ice caps on mountains and
more.  There are 4 main steps to a water cycle evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection.

Evaporation
Evaporation is when water is found in lakes, oceans, swamps, and soil, as well as in all living
creatures and plants. Then the heat is applied from the sun and it sees the water rise into the air.
the water molecules become excited and spread out across the sky to form into a nice and big
vapor cloud.

Condensation
Condensation is when the water vapor has risen into that sky cools then  it comes into contact
with the cooler air found up high. The vapor becomes a cloud, which is pushed around the world
by moving air currents and winds. If the water vapor cools to anything above zero degrees it will
condense as water. Then it will start to turn into droplets, These tiny droplets will start to fall into one another and merge, producing a larger droplet. When a droplet is large enough, gravity
will pull it down at a rate that exceeds the updraft in the cloud, leading to the droplet falling out of the cloud and onto the ground below.

Precipitation
Precipitation is when the water has fallen into rain and is absorbed into the ground. Soil and other
porous materials can absorb great deals of water this way, while rocks and other harder
substances will only retain a small amount of water. When the water infiltrates soil, it will move in
all directions until it either seeps into nearby streams or else sinks deeper into what is known as
groundwater storage.

Collection
After the water has fallen and the soil has become saturated, or the snow has melted, the water
follows gravity and falls down any hills, mountains, or other inclines to form or join rivers. This
process is known as the runoff and it is how water comes to rest in lakes and returns to the ocean.
The water falls according to the incline of the place from which it is falling, and when several
threads of water meet they form a stream.

There is no start or end to the water cycle, but for explanation purposes we will start at the sun.
Solar radiation from the sun heats the ocean and causes evaporation. This water vapor then
enters the atmosphere.

Goal

This week we had to come up with a goal to try to get to by the end of the term,we had to put something we are good at and something that we would like to get to. Here is mine

Frogs

Frogs

Frogs are special animals because they can live on water and on land. They  like to hide in moist, damp places, and they don't like direct sunlight. You can find them near ponds, at the edges of swamps, and on river banks. Here is a live cycle of how they were born.

Tadpole Eggs

Tadpole Eggs also called as fertilized eggs and are laid by female frogs normally around 2 to 12 get laid at a time. They are little jelly clear round balls with one black dot in the middle of it, they float on water in about clusters of 45 also called mass. Some Tadpole eggs can take up to 8 mouths but most take 6 to 8 weeks.

Tadpoles

Once they form into tadpoles they grow a little bigger and kidda look like little fish on clear jelly, well… at least I think that. When it forms it grows grills that allow it to breath underwater. The tadpoles can only swim and eat for the start. They eat the plants that are underwater, after a while it forms lungs so it can breathe out of the water when it becomes a frog. It also forms little fragile legs and a really long tail. It forms legs so that it can leap instead of all ways swimming.

Young Frogs

After 14 long weeks It finally forms into a frog. Now it has 4 legs and the tail becomes shorter, and only has a little stub left. When it is young it leaps out of the water for the first time to. Also when it is young it eats nothing… Imagine eating nothing for days.

Adult Frog

This is when the frog's tail completely disappears and it eats insects insead of plants and water. The young frog will grow for about 2-4 years to become an adult. The adult frogs then lay their eggs and more tadpoles hatch and begin the cycle again!

And that is how a tadpole turns into a frog. I hope I teach you a thing or 2 about a life cycle of a frog.

Here is my expatiation writing on frogs.

Report writing

New Zealand

New Zealand is a tourist country. It has about 367,958 tourist visits each year, It also has a nickname, named as NZ. Nz is a nice country to come and look at the amazing landscape. It is also known for their Maori culture and the famous national rugby team.

Landscape

There are 2 parts of New Zealand the South Island and the North Island. The North Island is bigger but on a map it looks smaller. There are many landscapes in both Islands the most popular one is in The southwestern corner of New Zealand South Island and it is called Milford Sound you can see the bright blue sea and cliffs that are thousands of feet high. Did you know that New Zealand is coming more popular for movies because of all of the cool landscapes that are getting found here.

Maori culture

The Maori culture is a big part of New Zealand Because the Maoris are the one who found New Zealand. So Maori is the history of NZ. There are many stories on how they found it. People say that it is really Important to learn te ora Maori when you're at school so that it doesn't become extinct to Nz when we are older.

National Rugby Team

Since 1903 New Zealand have taken part in the worldwide Rugby competition.New Zealand has won 3 world cups in They won in 1987 2011 in 2015 and tied with South Africa and most other Countries. In 1905 nickname is it all blacks Squad. And no one knows how they came by that title.

Although New Zealand has some bad World Records they also have really good ones. I would recommend coming to visit some day and going to see some of the landscapes and maybe finding out some more about the Rugby World Cup and the history.

Here is my second writing on report writing i did it on Nz please leave a helpful comment on what i did good and what i could do better.

Primary School

Primary School

School is a safe place to go to learn How to do maths,

writing and reading while your parents are working.

You are at school for 8 years from age 5 to 12-13.

There are 98,158 public schools all over the world.

You can also change schools anytime you want during the 8 years.

In a school there are classrooms, playgrounds and libraries.

Classrooms

A classroom is where all the kids get Separated into year groups.

Some schools only have 10 Children at them and some have

Thousands of children at them. So it depends on how many

children are at that school, how many classes there are at that

school.

Playground

Nearly every school has at least 1 playground, some even have 2

or more. Playgrounds with 2 or more normally have a big playground

and a little playground. The big playground is for the older kids and

the little playground is for the younger kids.

Library

A library has heaps of books that you can get out for 2 weeks.

Some libraries have magazines that you can read. Normally your

class goes there once a week to get books out and return books.

If you are a year 4 or up you can get 2 books out but if you are a

year 3 down you can only get 1 out.

Ages

There are all different ages that kids go to school. Most kids start

school at 5 years old but some start a 4 turning 5. You finish

school at age 12 or 13 depending on when they're birthdays are.

Most kids leave at 12 years old though.

Schools are a good place to go and find friends and learn how to do things.

Back to school

Today is our second week of being at school from lock down because of the globule pantomimic that is going on around the world. I like being at school better than doing school at home because, we get to be around our friend and like when you are stuck on something you can ask others for help. I also like doing work at home because you get to pick what order to do your work in and if you want to have a break you can.In my opinion I like being back at school better.  What did you like better being at school or being at home?? I can't watt till it goes done to leave 1 so that we can start to play sports again.

My Dog Marley.

Marley (My dog)

Marley is  brown on her back with light brown stripes going through it, her tummy is light brown and blonde. She has dark brown eyes like a owl. Marley is a girl, her breed is rottweiler cross bullmastiff and she sometimes barks as people who walk past our house. She smells a little stinky sometimes, but most of the time she doesn't.

Marley is quite clumsy but funny and lazy sometimes. Like if there is a pole in front of her and she is not looking where she is going (which happens most of the time) she will go straight into it.  Marley can be lazy, sometimes she just doesn't want to move, but sometimes she is the most hypo dog ever and can’t stop moving.

Marely affects our family by always jumping around and being joyful. She is always up to mischief so she keeps us busy all of the time.

Marley has a nice cozy bed in the back of our garage. She has heaps of toys like ropes, play balls and heaps more but most of all she likes playing with empty ice cream containers.

Here is my writing on my dog Marley.

What Money Can't Buy

Here is some writing on what money can't buy.

Fun Run

Yesterday we were supposed to be having cross county, but we could not because of the world pandemic that is going on. So our school come up with an idea that we could do a fun run. For the fun run we were in our house colour groups, I am in yellow. There are all different ages in our house colour groups so we could not run to far.  The track that we had to run was around the school, on the way we had to go under, through or over things. The fasted house colour to make it all to the end one. Each house colour group went at a time. One or the teachers at our school timed the group. Sadly my house colour come 3rd out of 4 but the winners got hot chips that was green.

Titanic

Here is a google side on what the titanic is and some facts about it. I hope you learn something from my writing. Scroll down if you want to see more about the titanic.

Titanic

Explain what could have been done
to prevent this disaster.

I think what could have been done
is that the
capital of the titanic ship
should have been
more aware of what is going
on in front of
him. Or if he could not see
in front of him he
could of thought of what kind of whether
he was driving to titanic
into, also what
county it was like was it a cold country that
has heaps on ice so that
they be aware if
the capital had to turn the ship on a sharp
corner he was really.
Last week we focused on the Titanic so here is some writing on what i thick could of happen to prevent the titanic from sinking.

buoyancy

Here is a google drawing on what i think buoyancy is by just watching a video that our teacher sent as well we were at home. Here is my work.

Autumn

Fantail-
Snowy white feathers, blowing in the wind like a flower that's lost its stalk. The fantails' big black beady eyes are threatening.

Flax Bush-
Dark brown, sharp flax is a giraffe swaying in the cold breezy wind. It looks like a sprinkler watering the garden.

Tress-
The ruff tree  grows from a seed like a baby in a mum tummy. The different coloured leaves fall between our eyes.

Leaves -
Red and green like the SA flag, The light bird knocking them off their long brunches.

For writing this week we had to write a poem based around Autumn. What we can see out our window is is mine.

On the basketball court

On the basketball court

I'm running down the court as I see the basketball quickly getting passed down to the end I try to run faster, as I am running I look down and see all the different coloured lines all over the wooden ground. I look back up as the ball quickly switches straight through the hoop. I turn around and as quickly as I can run to go on defense… I see my mum, my sister and my dad all cheering me on. I stay focused on the game. There are a lot of people that are there and cheering us on with their red and white stripe pom poms bobbing up and down like fireworks . There are big basketball posters of professional basketball players on all of the walls in the stadium. It is on a Wednesday, we play every Wednesday for one whole season. It is cold outside because it is winter but I am hot because I am playing. I can hear all of the people cheering their teams on, also feet stomping on the ground as teams are playing. I look up and see the big long window that goes right across a corner in the room. I can see all of the people walking in and out of the gym sweating, and that is my special place.

This term we have been focusing on descriptive writing, this is my descriptive writing is on my special place, I did on the  basketball court  because when I am playing it makes me feel good. This is my second piece i have done this term. Since we are in lockdown the teacher had to give it to us over the Chromebook , how are you guys liking online working? Keep cheeking in on my blog I will be posting at least 4 every week.

Hide and seek

Hide and Seek

Ready or not here i come
I hear him and quickly duck down
in the long wet itchy grass in the middle of the park
My legs get goosebumps
Do not start itching he will hear you
He will never find me if i stay quit
Did i leave the steaming oven on after i used it
Don’t worry get low and be quiet
I hear his wet dripping shoe dragging along the ground
The bushes blowing in the freezing cold wind
Babies crying as there mother running to there cars
He getting closer to me he is going to see me
I whisper to him because he is my friend mike
I say don’t find me make me win
He gets a fright and looks at me and says
Ok but when you are in you don’t find me
It was a dell He runs off as
Water of his she flicks back on to my face

And making water is fastly run down the grass

Here is my Hide and seek writing it is a poem. First we got given what to do and a expain of the poem then I started it. First i come up with were we want it to be I picked the park on a rainy day, then we had to say where we were hiding and what was the first thing that come to our carters mide. After that I turned into a bar graph then I asked if I had to do 2 bar graphs. Then my teacher asked me if I knew how to do a line graph. I did not know how to do one so she taught me.once I had finished I shared it with the class. Here are my working outs.
